 Coaster 2010 takes place every Saturday in September at the Gosford Showground’s in Gosford. Coaster is a 16+ (MA) music festival and is the place to be for anyone who loves their music, arts and the outdoors. Pioneering and reinforcing the strong music, arts and creative culture of the region, Coaster is now in its fourth year and is now nationally recognized as the start of the summer festival season in Australia. 
 
Coaster was born in September 2008 with an initial aim of presenting a solid day of cool acts to cater for the growing central coast regions love of all things creative & musical. We had no idea if it would be a success but worked our butts off to come up with something we would be proud to put our name. And it ended up selling out, with 8000 music lovers dancing and singing their hearts out. 2008 Line-up  The Living End, Kisschasy, Cog Something With Numbers, Blue King Brown, The Potbelleez, The Matches, Bluejuice, Children Collide, Gin Wigmore, The E.L.F, The Tongue, Angela's Dish, We Are Grace, The Seabellies, Snob Scrilla, The Inheritors, The Steel.

 
In 2009 we presented a lineup which featured major Australian as well as International.  We added a brand new stage area on the rugby field, which meant more flow throughout the venue site and a great new place to hang out.  Most importantly the capacity increased and we had 10,000 happy faces letting it all hang out. 2009 Line-up: Eskimo Joe, Bliss n Eso, Does It Offend You Yeah, The Bronx, British India, Gza from Wu Tang Clan, Van She, Grafton Primary, Children Collide, The Airborne Toxic Event, The Amity Affliction, The Fumes, Gin Wigmore, Pez, Ajax, The John Steel Singers, The Scare, Slow Down Honey, Yacht Club DJ's, DJ/JG, DZ, Young Heretics, Fifty Six, Ernest Ellis, Cabins, Modern Joy, One Jonathon Old Music For Old People 
 
This leads us to our third year. We spent a long time looking for the right act to headline Coaster 2010 and to have one of the greatest hip hop acts in the world play Coaster is a dream come true. Coupled with the biggest rock acts in the country at that time the the 2010 line up was a musical smorgasbord that had you bursting at the seams by the time you left.  2010 Line-up: Cypress Hill, Birds of Tokyo,  Art Vs Science, Bluejuice, Basement Birds, Silversun Pickups, Cloud Control, Hungry kids of Hungry, Boy & Bear, The Holidays, Slow Down Honey, The Chemist, City Riots, Maniac, Jinja Safari, Old Music For Old People,  The Foreign Objects, Daniel Lee Kendall & The Vox Angelicus   
 
This year we have made the change to support all Australian Music and connect with the local region as this is their event. Each year we find it harder to have a point of difference so going back to keeping it simple and making it all about  the acts is what we’ve done this year.  Coaster wants you to have a good time. Coaster wants you to laugh, live and enjoy. Coaster wants you to leave with a smile on your face and a spring in your step.  Coaster wants you to be kind to the people around you and respect the site and give big love to the acts playing. 
 
Coaster is put together by the team at Select Music, a music company responsible for representing a roster of amazingly talented Australian acts and also as a touring company bringing out all kinds of great acts from all over the world. We are a team of music lovers first and foremost and our goal is to keep striving to make Coaster the best music experience you have ever had. Most importantly we are always happy to hear from anyone who has been to Coaster.
